Should I give it a try?

I am a simple-minded patient and don't know what and who to believe.
But I have visited many many 'scientific' doctors and read the
citations of various 'scientific' studies by the world renowned
'scientists' in alt....and followed their advice/treatments but ...with
little result.

Then finally I ran into this one:
http://www.internethealthlibrary.com/Health-problems/Tinnitus%20-%20researchAltT
herapies.htm

"... in 1979 the World Health organisation listed 40 major diseases
that could find relief by acupuncture treatment and tinnitus was
included in that number. (1)"

Should I give it a try?  After all, the World Health organization
should be at least as good as the commentators in alt.  No?

I am waiting to be enlightened.  After all, I am not in the medical
profession so it is hard for me to tell the true authority from the
ones that are less so.

Francis, I'm getting a tad weary of your sarcasm.

I'm just a lay person, too.  I have no trouble doing my own research and
deciding what treatments to try.

Do whatever floats yer boat.

This post is not specifically addressed to you, Susan, albeit I was
under the impression that you fell into some kind of medical authority.
I got that impression as a result of your 'proper' English writing and
the fact that you had claimed that after searching unrelentingly you
had so far not found anything in the body of English liternature that
suggested t could be treated by acupuncture.  Thus my post serves as a
reminder to all that the world we live in is very large and certainly
goes beyond what Hollywood movies are capable of describing.

I *am* a medical authority when it comes to deciding how to treat *my*
body.  I'm also about the only person here who bothers to respond to you.

I don't get my world view nor my local information from commercial
enterprises from Hollywood or anywhere else.  For you to imply it is
arrogant and kind of points to why you're being so completely ignored  here.

Your reply is irrelevant to the points I raised.  Never mind what
'others' do or don't do.  Just focus on what you do. In seeking truth,
you sometimes have to be very alone.  Following the herd gets you
nowhere.  Finding the solution to t could mean looking where people
have not been looking. I am enlightening you by showing you where you
have not gone to look for answers.  You should be grateful to having me
around instead of having a bunch of echos among each other...
