New I may be here but certainly am no newbie in the area of Tinnitus.
I live with it quite "peacefully" and avoid loud noises as much as possible.
Left ear "hears" via cochlear implant, right ear has digital support but
does not give much more than the sense of hearing stereo.
I have always been wondering how Tinnitus can increase when I am in a noisy
surrounding. I turn off the aids soon because the noise it too loud, than
there is NO sound left, but than that Tinnitus seems to take over. The more
noise around the more tinnitus, which can turn into some starfighter that
keeps hanging over my head. I have read about reactive Tinnitus but cannot
find much about it.
Perhaps over there? (this message comes from Netherlands).

Sounds like you may be suffering from hyperacusis ( a sensitivity to
sounds, especially loud)- there's a good site @
http://www.hyperacusis.net.
I myself have SSD (single sided deafness) with a BAHA (bone anchored
hearing aid)
and I know that any sudden loud noise will cause my tinnitus to
temporarily
"spike". Almost like a "fight or flight" reaction.
Overall, you seem to be dealing with your "T" quite well. Hang in
there.
