Hi

I have been trying out Xanax (0.5) once a day at around 9.30 to 10 am every
mornig for 8 days.  The T quietened down considerably - to silence on a
couple of days - but it seemed to disturb my sleep ( plus a bit of
indigestion).  Unfortunately, on the 9th day the T "broke through" again!
:(   Xanax doesn't seem to relax me at all. On the contrary, it livens me
up!    I felt a bit rough this morning so took a Valium instead.  My
questions are:
1. Do Xanax and Valium "mix", or should I take just one or the other?

2. Is it worth taking the Xanax if it disturbs my sleep - I usually sleep
well - and the T is breaking through again anyway? <sigh>

Thanks a million!

I know you're waiting for Murray or Jim to respond, but I'll put in my
$.02, also.

I, too, react to benzodiazapenes with jitteriness *unless I keep the
dose low*.  You may need to try a very small dose, seeing the minimum
you need to keep your T quieter, and your nerves steady.  I wouldn't
substitute nor mix with Valium without a doctor's involvement.  Valium
is very short acting, for one thing.

Some folks who use Xanax or Valium for vestibular probs find that
Klonopin works better for them and is longer acting.  These are all
controlled substances, and it's best to work closely with a doctor
through trials and error.

HTH,

Susan
