Sure. The various herpes viruses "live" in the nerves and
reactivate from time to time, including when immune system
activity changes. There have been a number of studies of herpetic
antibodies and their relationship to inner ear symptoms in
Meniere's. One study (not replicated...) found antibodies in the
perilymph of those with Meniere's but not in the perilymph of
those with other inner ear vestibular disorders.
Look at PubMed and you should find a number of studies.
