Hi, I've had tinnitus since 2000, and have'nt ever realley bothered to get
it looked at as I wrote it off as noise damage from concerts etc and overuse
of headphones in the past, however I also did do the occasional scuba dive
at the time and have hypertension and a jaw that pops every time i open it
as well a fairly stiff neck since last october. All these seem from my
reading to be possible causes of various types of damage that can lead to
tinnitus - so where would i start.
One interesting fact is that mine is almost the identical sound to that you
get when you clench your jaw - it just raises the volume even more for a
brief period.
Any ideas?

Hi Robert,
Quite a few people have had trouble after scuba diving.
I would suggest focussing on the stiff neck. Can you get a massage
from a trusted therapist? That will relieve the tension somewhat. It
will also let you know whether there is tension somewhere else.
Then look at your lifestyle. What could be causing that tension?
