I'm posting this for anyone who is looking into this condition and wants
at least a little hope. I had PT for about 5 years. It would wax and wane
but would always be there, and of course, particularly noticeable at night.

About a year and a half ago, when I was resigned to a lifetime of this
and when my PT was at its worst - it abruptly stopped overnight. Nothing.
Nada. The only reappearance it has made was after about a year and when I
was quite ill with pneumonia. It reappeared for the duration of the
pneumonia, and then ceased - again, overnight. No more occurrences since.

If you are losing hope, perhaps the knowledge that it can spontaneously
resolve may be of some comfort.

Thank you for that. But something else must have chenged in your life
- unrelated to T.
Did you move house - change jobs - something that affected your body
in some way.

Nothing changed, except the tinnitus - no job change, no diet change, no
lifestyle change. It just stopped overnight.

Bob,
Does PT re-appear when you have congestion in your sinuses due to minor
colds or sinus infections?

I've been visited by sinusitis several times since (and before) the
event. the PT did not appear at all - the exception, as I noted was when I
had pneumonia.

I had this PT for 7 years now and over the years it has deteriorated and
has affected my hearing. The main cause of this is my allergic rhinitis
and I am taking maintenance anti-allergy meds. I am now wearing hearing
aids and my PT has not change quite a bit.  Recently, I was prescribed by
my ENT to take Duxaril (for 2 months) and Methycobal (2 weeks) and since I
started these medicines, I felt dizzy spells and heart palpitations (for
about 15 mins after I took them).  I haven't gone back to the ENT yet and
will just take these medicines coz I really wanted to get rid of my PT.

Bob, was there ever an incident that caused the sudden stop of your PT? My
ENT told me that I had to bear with it for the rest of my life and this
meds will just help proper circulation of blood in my brain.

Thank you...

Did you have any investigations as to the cause of your PT?

Cheers - John

Yeah - ENT examination, neurologist examination, ultra-sound, ct scan.
Nothing showed up.

The usual outcome of investigations into PT, in my experience.
