If I pinch my nose and blow at any random time during the day it usually clears
them up a bit, is that abnormal, that they're always 'blocked' a little bit?
It doesn't clear like a good yawn or anything.. someone told i shouldn't do it
though, that it was bad for my eardrums.. is this true?

It all depends on whether you do this gently or with excessive force.
If you blow hard enough, you can injure the ear. Ordinary swallowing with the
nose pinched should be safe, unless you have a lot of pus in the nose.

is possible that the relief from this this kind of compensation is due
to "the excess of the fluids in the inner ear (hydrops)" as stated on
this site: http://www.otolaryngology.be/ear.html?
I suppose that the excess of fluid in the cochlea could be balanced from
the higher pressure inside the medium ear caused by pinching the nose
and blowing.
Does it make sense?
