...stick my fingers in my ears, wait for 2-3 seconds, listen, and wait
to hear some type of "hiss"?
About 6 months ago, I awoke to a loud ringing in my right ear. After a
few weeks, the ringing totally subsided. However, if I try to
concentrate hard enough, I can still hear a faint "hiss" if I plugged
my ears and thought about the hiss (opening my mouth/jaw really wide
amplified the hiss a little bit, so its easier for me to tell that some
"hissing" is still there)..
Well, these days I'm wondering if the Tinnitus remains. Maybe I'm just
scared and I'm making myself believe that I still have Tinnitus, when
in reality its just normal.
By the way, I believe my Tinnitus episode arrived because of extremely
loud music with headphones. Loud enough where you could hear the music
coming from the headphones, in a different room. Yes, that loud.
Thanks.

If it doesn't bother you, it "isn't" T. Everyone has "some" noise in
their heads. Yours could be a slight case of T, but unless you notice it
under other circumstances, I wouldn't worry about it.
Just be careful about loud noises this time. I got my first round of T
due to loud music. It eventually disappeared, but I was stupid enough to
expose myself to loud music again at a disco. It then returned, and has
stayed ever since. (The music the first time I got it was extremely
loud, but the second one came because of music no louder than most
clubs! So it seems that my ears were already worn down enough to easily
give me T again.)

Also, never never plug your ears and listen for T...........if you cannot hear
it casually, without trying, leave it be.
