I am at the end of my tether..how on earth can I live the rest of my life
like this?

I have no quality at all....
I can think of nothing that I can do anymore.

I hardly work because I never know when I'm going to have an "Ear attack"
I can't go into shopping centres because I freak out and feel like I'm goin
to black out.
I can't go swimming because water makes my T worse and also I get really
dizzy when I swim.
I dont dare go on a holiday, I went last October and Day 1 I got an
aspegillus infection in mt ear and burst my ear drum and was generally sick
the whole time.

I don;t know how my family is putting up with me, I lie on the lounge and
watch them have a good time, I can do nothing.

My life is over !!!!!

Hang on in there Jennifer...  When things are really as bad as can be,  the
only thing you can rely on is that they can only go one way from here
...better !    Other posters here will be able to give you more useful
advice than me on your actual condition.  Easy for me to say I know but -
take it easy; stressing over the situation won't help.  Be sure to keep us
all posted here on how you're doing.

All the best,

I remember feeling this way, years ago.  I was so flattened that I couldn't do
anything to help with the house or the baby for weeks or months at at time.  It
seemed it would never end.

I think you have to find a good, concerned and intellectually curious
physician.  This is NOT easy, but it can be done by networking with other
folks.  Perhaps through your nearest CFS/ME group, or Lyme support group?

Visit another doctor or look for one that could take care of you.

I mean this in the kindest way but it wouldn't be a bad idea to consider
talking to a therapist and/or considering medication to help your
anxiety and try to relax. Also, vestibular rehabilitaion can be a tremendous
help for dizziness. It may seem your life is over but it ain't.

Hang in there.

De-lurking to say I gotta agree with you on both counts here.  Jennifer,
there's nothing wrong with talking to a counsellor to help you deal with
the anxiety you experience from a very real physical problem.  Plus,
the vestibular rehabilitation is quite helpful.  I have Meniere's, and
I used to have horrible vertigo.  I still get it sometimes from certain
stimuli, but I don't get it on a regular basis anymore.  With the physical
therapy exercises, I got a lot of relief from the daily vertigo.

Speaking of habituation, there's only one way you get there -- time and
acceptance.  If I stop to concentrate, I can certainly hear my very loud
tinnitus.  Somebody else mentioned that, when you realize that your
tinnitus won't kill you, it seems to fade into the background more.
The more you worry about it hurting you, the more you hear it.  I
used to think I simply could not "go on like this."  Well, I have.
I'm still here.  I'm still buzzing, clicking, and whooshing, but I'm
still alive!  Hang in!!

Peace, Eva

It's a specialized program done by a physical therapist that helps
adaptation/habituation
(thru a series of exercises) for dizziness or lightheadedness. It's
basically finding what
type of movements precipitate or exacerabate your dizziness with
subsequent exercises to help
your vestibular system habituate. It's something that many people find
useful and it
should be covered by your medical insurance/system. Your ENT should be
able to give you
a referral.  It's worth a shot.

Sorry to disagree with you one more time.  I think Jennifer's case
needs medical attention aside from the relaxation thing.
