I am interested in your theory of T being caused my tension in the neck,
jaw etc. and has massage etc. helped you?  Also, my daughter has had it
from birth, so surely she wasn;t born with a stiff neck? :)  She is
relaxed about it, as she has always had T, and thought everyone else did
too, until I "caught" it and went silly!

Hi Ben,

I am sorry to hear your daughter has had T since birth. I know there
are some people who have this. I haven't heard the answer to this.

My initial treatment by a chiropractor certainly helped me. I was
given 10 minutes under a hot lamp, then massaged, then manipulated.
To my utter astonishment the T was gone 3 days later. Why 3 days? I
have no idea.

But it came back as I did not know what the initial cause was. But it
did show me very clearly that somewhere there had to be a simple
answer.

Over the years in this newsgroup I noticed that many people could have
a muscular component to their T.

Over the years I also collected a lot of information which I slowly
compiled into a webpage, which has grown considerably.

Have you visited there yet?

Ta Elly!  I had bookmarked your site but not had a chance to study it
yet.  I will very soon as I think my T is most likely due to muscular
tension as I am that type of person :(   I am really pleased you have
been helped.

Hi Ben,

I am still thinking about your daughter. I am not a medical person but
some questions do come to mind.

How did she know that she had tinnitus?
If she always had it, it would have been considered a normal sound.
How old was she when she told you?
Have you ever been to a chiropractor with her?

Now before people throw upo their hands in horror - chiros do have a
gentle way with children. A friend of mine used to take her young son
to one for asthma. And it was very helpful.

She didn't know until I complained about mine, and wondered why I was so
bothered by it!  She thought everyone had noises in their ears like she
did, so it never bothered her, and still doesn't. She has always had a
slight hearing defect too.  Hearing problems run in the family. My niece
is nearly totally deaf and has tinnitus :(

Yes, true.

> How old was she when she told you?

Quite old - 17 or 18, I'd think.

> Have you ever been to a chiropractor with her?

No, and I can't take her now she's married LOL!  I haven't been either,
though my brother has been to one with a bad back and swears by the
treatment.

My son has asthma, though not badly now he too is grown up :)  I think
alternative medicine should be treated very seriously.  That is all they
had years ago, and they worked??!
