I agree with you Murray, however, why are we all on this group? We are
*desperate* to find a "cure" for T, and when we have to accept there isn't
one, it becomes almost as annoying as the T itself, and definitely causes
people who suffer to be bad-tempered|? I think we need to be more tolerant
of any ideas people might put forward regarding a "cure", and not so
dismisive.

Amen! to what Murray posted. To answer your question, Ben, we are all here
for 'support' as there is NO cure for tinnitus. When we learn this fact, we
have two choices:
1. Accept it.
2. "Let it become almost as annoying as the T itself and cause us to be
'bad tempered'."
Yes, we can be more tolerant of any ideas put forward, BUT...we do not have
to tolerate the use of profanity or insults.

We also have choices about how not to tolerate profanity and insults. The best
way, for preservation of a supportive group, is to ignore it. The worst way is
to engage in a long, distracting thread responding to it and/or objecting to
it.
IMO.

that is not the problem. It is the name calling and foul language that self
aggrevates and increases the Tinnitus.
How can you convince yourself to relax when you are shouting foul words at
another? That makes your own tinnitus amplified.

(1)I have met people whose tinnitus has been 'cured'.
(2)Between a cure and no cure, there is a wide range of 'treatment'
that could bring about improvement in terms of 'degrees'.
(3)It is conceivable for people don't want to talk about 'cure' but it
is inconceivable why they don't even entertain the idea of
improvement.
