No studies have found a benefit.  Years ago, we had one poster who felt it made
her feel more comfortable, but no direct lessening of her T, as I recall.

Well, as recently posted, I did get refief from shiatsu, which is
acupressure. I believe in the coming weeks I am supposed to be undergoing
acupuncture as part of my ongoing treatment. Apparently the effects should
be very similar, but only time will tell.

By the way, just for the record,  after my second shiatsu session my T
remained more or less the same, but I got enormous relief from my backache!!

Cheers,
Simon.

You should see a good doctor.  If this Chinese dr were a traditional
doctor, that would be ok to try.  But if he were just anyone, you
might as well see Murray in this group.  It is certain that Murray
knows treating ears.

I tried for 2 months this year.
In my opinion it does not help you.

This raises several possibilities:
(1)The kind of tinnitus you have may not be treatable by accupuncture.
(2)The kind of tinnitus could be treatable by accupuncture but the
accupuncturist you have used is incapable of treating it in this case.

Any third possibility?

And if so, what is the name of this kind of tinnitus?  What are the names of
the other kind?  I've only heard of "subjective" and "objective".

I don't but I do know that the tinnitus sound was made softer after I
had the treatment and the pressure associated with the sound was
reduced.  Thus the needle must have touched a spot or spots that are
connected with the pressure in the head and in turn the sound.

I do not know of anyone whose tinnitus is completely cured by
accupuncture but then again i don;t know of that many tinnitus
patients to be an authority on this.  However, I do know of a couple
whose tinnitus has been _completely_ cured.  These are the patients i
met at the hyperbaric oxygen chamber.  For your information, the
treatment of tinnitus using a combination of hyperbaric oxygen and
intravenous injection was learnt from the European doctors by the
Chinese doctors in China.  Therefore, this kind of treatment is quite
'conventional'.
