My tinnitus gets  worse at night.  What are ways to sleep better with
tinnitus.  Any ideas?

Avoid too quiet a place. Use partial masking--a fan or air cleaner will
usually do.

I set the bedroom TV timer to 60 minutes, turn the brightness down as
far as it will go, tune in the golf channel, and set the volume low
(so I can just barely hear the commentators).  I find that the
monotone drone of the commentator's voices takes my mind off my
tinnitus and allows me to drift off get to sleep.  Fortunately, my
wife is a sound sleeper and is not bothered by this :-)

excellent advice. Move to a ground floor apartment in New York.
Many persons "discover" they have T when they first come to a quiet place.

James,

I solved that problem by tuning my alarm clock radio to our local public
radio news station and setting it to turn off in an hour.  Where I live, "as
it happens" comes on at 10 p.m. and is followed by the BBC.  Both are
interesting enough to distract me from the tinnitus sound.  Their laid-back
presentation has me sound asleep before the radio automatically shuts off.

In my case, the distraction from the tinnitus sound is more helpful than the
limited masking effect.

I use a white noise cd such as this one I just found on eBay :

.
This really helps mask the T.

Sometimes I set the radio on a station which has lots of interference, which
also masks the T.

The last aid I have is a couple of jars of strong Belgian beer.

Best of Luck with it.

Holland.

I use a Sharper Image Sound Soother set to a flowing brook.

Have the TV turned on, esp the channels with the ads.

I just close my eyes and drop off in seconds.  I am fortunate in that I am
the type who sleeps to get away from problems.

I think most persons have learned to "tune out" the advertisements. If you
leave on QVC you almost automatically go in and out of it, none of it grabs
your attention from going to sleep and it may be just enough to distract from
the tinnitus.
