Anyone here tried shiatsu ?

I have been for one session and I already believe the T tone has "softened"
slightly. Hopefully this is not just my imagination or wishful thinking.
Anyway time will tell as I plan to return regularly.

Cheers,
Simon.

Do you eat it raw and cold or do you prefer it cooked?  :-)

Japanese massage, often referred to in Holland as acupressure..

This http://www.rianvisser.nl/shiatsu/e_watis.htm explains it nicely. There
are quite a few sites explaining Shiatsu, but I have just come to realise,
to my surprise, that it is almost unknown in the States. It is clearly more
widespread in Europe, especially UK and Holland. This massage is even
offered at our Office here in Holland!!!

My T has definately improved since my first session. The charming young lady
balanced out the energy levels throughout my whole body using nothing more
than the pressure of her fingers, and pulling my toes! She was able to
pin-point the troublespots in my body with amazing accuracy whilst she was
"in my energy zone" whilst pressuring my feet.

She claims she will certainly be able to reduce my T or maybe get rid of it
altogether. Well, it has already been reduced, albeit slightly, but I am not
sure if this is the result of just feeling good, or whether it really is
quieter.

Best wishes,
Simon.

Thank you for the reply.  Now I seem to know what it is.  It has
another name in Chinese and the name sort of refers to acupressure
using fingers.  Oftentimes,we as individuals have to try out a
treatment in order to find out if something works or not, or whether
that particular doctor could do us any good.

I went to this lady doctor www.yongsheng.ca.  After the first 2
treatments,my body gave me signals to discontinue betahistine and
after the third lasix.  Now i am totally off medication except a
couple of gingo pills a day.  She told me that my tinnitus is due to a
pinched nerve in the third colar of my neck bone.  Though she does not
use words such as 'seizure', she does use words like 'serve squeezing
or contracting'.  That is to say, there have been 'seizure' activities
in my brain.  The latter might have come about as a result of the
incorrect head position in front of a computer over a prolonged time
period. Now, with the pressure in my head almost totally off, the t
sound has become much softened.  There are times in a day in which I
experience almost total silence.  This certainly is a remarkable
improvement from that maddening ill about a year ago.  I could not
understand why so many people talk about 'there is no cure for
tinnitus'.  I think a more likely scenario is that their doctors have
failed to help them locate the cause of their t. What is a cure after
all?

Simon, if it works for you that is great. It probably relaxed you.
What is there in your life that could be setting up tension in the
muscles?

In the process of divorce and being left with 3 teenagers to look after!!
Could give anyone high stress levels, I guess.

Try something which my doctor taught me.  You sit on your bed with
your legs crossed.  Keep stretching your neck forward.  Better still,
buy a neck stretching machine.

That is good news!  It would give you a chance to go for someone
younger. You will realize what I say a year from now.  Monogamy is
never meant for men and has been a proven failure in the west.  Going
for someone younger could make you live longer and get rid of your t.

Might just do that!! The best tip I've had so far. LOL.

Of course. What is 'falling out of love'?  It means that you have not
found someone better!  The moment you have a taste on a piece of fresh
filet, you will forget that piece of overnite steak.  Your effort
should be spent on making more money to attract females.  That is the
way it has been for humans since time memorial.

Going slightly off topic now, but do you really think money helps? I would
like to think it was my charm to win over someone 10 years younger, not my
money. Actually I am pretty close right now. You aren't telepathic are you?
Let's hope my fresh filet is nicer than the steak, eh?

What about females who are self sufficient and can provide for themselves,
Francis?  For you to say women are only attracted to money is such a
chauvinistic statement.

There are exceptions to this general rule.  What is the percentage of
women willing to support men and pay for dinners when going out?  And
compare this % to the amount of men willing to support women for
whatever purposes.  Do so on a global basis and you will discover the
truth.

I have had rich experience with women from all cultures and have come
to the conclusion that for whatever biological/psychological/social
reasons men are more willing to support women than the other way
around and a greater % of women being attracted to men regardless of
the age and look of the latter than % of men under the same set of
conditions.

Shiatsu is a form of Oriental Therapy evolved from a 5000 years old
tradition of healing arts.

Shiatsu utilizes a combination of pressure and assisted-stretching
techniques, some of which are common to other therapies, such as Massage,
Physiotherapy, Acupressure, Osteopathy, Lymphatic Drainage, Do-in and
others. The treatment stimulates the circulation and the flow of lymphatic
fluid, releases toxins and deep seated tensions from the muscles, stimulates
the hormonal system and the immune system, and acts on the autonomic nervous
system, allowing the recipient to relax deeply and to get in touch with own
healing power.

Some Benefits of Shiatsu include:

1. Reduced stress & fatigue (tsubo) accumulated in the body

2. Increased circulation of blood and lymph

3. Reduced blood pressure and muscle stiffness

4. Increased vitality, stamina and energy (Qi)
