I have T as long as I can remember..  High pitched tone in both ears..
Always thought everybody had this phenomenon..

Couple of days ago, I woke up with a 'new' lower-pitched tone..
This dissapeared but I find myself wondering if my T has increased since..
So it's possible it _did_ increase just because i'm more aware of it now..

But  then yesterday, I saw a boy with a kidney disease.. Living like a dog
on a leech to this machine..
Just a couple of years more to live.....

So, T is relative i guess......

For now I'll leave the coffee and give the 'ginko balboa' a try..
Thanks all for your information in here!

Wish you all the best living with the T..

 Regards from Holland,
    Marco

I love my black coffee, and my T is no different whether I drink it or not,
so I drink it :)

Had a ginko latte the other day.
Was comparable to a cream of wheat pie.

My T has was triggered by an ear infection and after a few months, dare
I say it, appears to be steadily lessening.

Gingko appears to help. (I do drink a couple cups of coffee in the AM,
doesn't seem to affect it.)

Have also worked on seriously relaxing my chronically tense shoulders
and neck, plus relaxing in general, and that seems to help too.

The more you focus on it, the more it's there. If you don't focus on it,
it's not there. EZ to say, not always easy to do, and yes, my T is mild.

Hi Marco,

any idea how you got your T, Marco?

I got mine last year by standing too close to the speakers at a rock
concert. Ironically it was the "Golden Earring" concert last November in the
Velohal, Wateringen.

It drove me mad in the first few months, but then I decided I wouldn't let
this bugger beat me. So I put on a brave positive approach and decided that
it was not going to bother me. Indeed, it helped and suddenly I focussed on
it less and less. So coping with it is clearly in the mind, right?

I am convinced that the tone is more or less the same all day, but my levels
of coping with it changes. Recently I have been able to go for a few hours
without focussing, but then every now and then unexpected exposure to
extremely loud noise for some reason makes me spend hours focussing to see
if it has got worse or not. I am currently going through a difficult period
of trying not to focus, and am convinced that I will get my focus levels
back on "low" fairly soon.

You are right when you say that it is all relative. Just take a walk around
a few hospital wards, and then you realise that you are actually quite well
off,  if that is all that you have got.

All the very best.

An acupuncturist friend suggested I try a Chinese herbal remedy called
Tzu Tso Otic, that might lessen my already quite mild tinnitus.

I'm trying it, will let you know. This particular formulation has been
around for 700 years.

You can find it on the Net. However a Chinese Herbal store here in Los
Angeles had it for $2.99 a bottle vs. $10-20 on the Net, so shop around
if you're interested. A bottle lasts eight days, he suggested three bottles.

I'm not interested starting in flame wars about Chinese vs Western
medicine and will not respond to such!

As we all know, if something works for our highly individual cases of T,
then that is good, and what works for one may not work for another.
