One of the first things these charlatans learn is that a fool and his money
are soon parted. Getting the MRI is a good idea but under the
circumstances, they are having that done to cover their a.s, not yours. The
hearing test seems to be just another profit center. When the laser
treatments don't work, you will get this story about how different people
are and how you must be one of the unfortunate few for whom the treatment
fails. They will have your money, you will have your tinnitus. Of course,
over the course of this treatment many will habituate their tinnitus as they
otherwise would have anyway. These will be the ones who they claim
successfully responded to treatment.
It's hard for me to put into words how disgusted I am by scams that prey on
people suffering tinnitus or any other ailment. Suffice it to say they are
a.sholes.

Let me put it this way,
For YOU to be treated you want a few medical journal articles that have been
published that says something about the treatment.
for instance, the skin docs are offering Light Rx for skin wrinkles. You can
find a dozen articles on that subject. they are advertising Coblation Rx for
tonsillectomy. Again, medical articles to support it
AND FDA has approved that treatment. Doesn't mean you should run to it, but at
least its a beginning.
No medical articles?
No FDA approved?
No university backing?

Yes, it is true. There are doctors and other clinicians treating tinnitus with
unproven and laughable but expensive approaches, including shining a laser
pointer in your ear.

Do they shave your ears first? Bet they even wear "scrubs" to enhance the
effect.

This caught my eye * If an analysis indicates that you need a "Home
Treatment" device to help you achieve better results, one will be rented to
you. In some cases, we may recommend that you rent a "Home Treatment" unit
immediately upon discharge to help accelerate the improvement of your
Tinnitus * AND: Thirty days and ninety days after Completion...We will
analyze your progress and *if not satisfied with the results achieved*, we
will make recommendations as to additional treatments.
I believe this is to 'cover their a.s' too.

In other words, if you aren't satisfied with what you have gotten for you
money so far, we'll suggest ways you can waste even more.

Exactly. There is *no* cure for Tinnitus. The most effective masking,
coping, habituating....(whatever one prefers to call them)...devices are
free. It won't happen overnight, but it can and will happen.
