I just read this on a house dust site:
"Raised ambient temperature, ultra-violet light and a relative humidity of
less than 55% are all lethal to house dust mites"
Okay, anything that is lethal to house dust mite is definitely a
consideration.
Is UV light harmful only when 'in operation' - i.e. if I ran a UV lamp
consistently when I was not home, say in the lounge and bedroom - are all
harmful effects halted when I turn it off? Or are there any residual or
secondary harmful effects?
Thanks :)

Hello,
No. Not all UV-C bulbs emit ozone.
Yes. They are more dangerous than your
average flourescent tube/bulb, because the
UV-C can destroy your eyesight or your skin
just like the sun does to you if you look right
into it or stay on the beach day after day after
day. In other words: what the sun can do to you
in hours or days the UV-C tube can do to a child
or animal in seconds. Any flourescent tube/bulb
broken can kill you if you get cut by it and its
contents get into your bloodstream.

I keep a 'black light' on often in my bedroom. Very low level UV. But
I've heard it has beneficial health effects and helps kill or stave
off flu viruses.'
