for the past 2 years i have gotten a sinus infection with every cold.
talking to others it seemed like surgery or frequent antibiotics were
in my future.

however, i didn't want to go there.  i did some research and came up
with a solution that has kept me off antibiotics and out of the
surgeon's office.

if it works for you great, if not sorry.  First do a patch test with
tea tree oil.  Put a few drops of tea tree oil on a cotton swab and
apply to the
inside of the arm. If you have an adverse reaction, irritation will
appear
on the skin within a matter of minutes. If the patch test doesn't
indicate any irritation or allergic reaction, go to the next step.

Mix extra virgin olive oil (1 tablespoons) with 1-2 drops of tea tree
oil.  I put it in a brown dropper bottle and shook it up.

Lay down on a bed or something and put a half dropperful into your
sinus cavity, turn your head to the side so it doesn't all run down
your throat. Then try to coat the sinus cavity by various contortions.
I know it sounds weird.

Repeat on the other side/cavity.  The more effective you are at
spreading it around the better.

Do this twice a day.

After a day or 2 the sinus infection is usually feeling better.  The
pain is gone, but i continue until the yellow/green is gone.

I also supplement this treatment by irrigating with a bulb syringe and
salt water solution twice a day.  Don't irrigate right before or for
several hours after using the tea tree oil solution.

For the record, this idea happened while praying before the blessed
sacrament.  I thought about trying to sell the solution and
directions, but i don't want to deal with the fda or tiptoe around the
fda, and after doing more research the info is there for anyone brave
enough or in enough pain to try something novel like dumping tea tree
oil up your nose.

Careful though, straight tea tree oil burns like hell if you get it up
your nose!

Good luck and God bless.

I think it has been pointed out that if the oils get into your
lungs it can cause pneumonia.  So if you are going to do this you
may want to do it only in the morning.  That way you won't be lying
down afterwards.
