A week isn't anywhere close to how long it takes for your sinuses to
heal after surgery. In fact, I was miserable for the first couple of
weeks after my surgery.
It can take up to SIX MONTHS for your sinuses to heal fully. You have a
long way to go.
Be very patient.

Thanks for replying. I forgot to say that the Dr. also did a
turbinateoplasty, he said the one was fat and he had to take stuff out
in the middle of it. Anyway I guess thats supposed to help with the
air flow in the sinus. He also said I should give it more time but
this sore throat from the junk running down my throat is bad. Its all
red and swollen and bumpy looking and painful. I'm just afraid it
will lead to something else. Is there anyhting else I can try for
post nasal drip? Right now I'm just using the saline spray because he
said thats all he wants me to do for now. I'm also drinking a lot of
water and tea and I've been sucking on sore throat drops for the past
year.

You should ask your physician about nasal irrigation (not just a spray).
And also ask your physician about inhaling steam. I stand in the shower
with the hot water up full blast. This generates steam that I inhale
thru my mouth. The steam liquefies and loosens the post nasal drip that
irritates my throat and also makes me cough. I also find that an OTC
product called Gly-Oxide (it's a peroxide syrup) helps wash away the
gunk from my mouth and throat.
But don't do any of these things without checking with your doctor first.

I tried the hot steam tonight and it did seem to help a little for
opening up my nose and I have been boiling 2 cups of water and adding
one half tsp. of salt and a pinch of baking soda and I let that cool
down and just cup it in my hands and sniff it up my nose, I've been
doing that for a couple of days, I don't know if its helping or not.
I've use gly-oxide in the past if I get a sore in my mouth but I
didn't think you were supposed to swallow that?
I'm afraid my throat is going to close up or it will go into my lungs.
Thanks for your help.
