I'm very near the 'renowned' Cleveland Clinic. Live about 28 miles
south of the main clinic center.

Been wondering if a visit there would be advised. Anyone have any
comments about the Cleveland Clinic - how to approach setting things
up - who to see - i'm wondering about an allergist? if there is such a
thing.

I think Steven L posted that he went there and was disappointed with
the outcome of his visit. I think Trudy also mentioned she'd been
going there.

I, of course, would like to get my problem identified with some
certainty - what is the cause of chronic inflammation, etc and
hopefully get some kind of medicine, treatments, guidance that would
lead to a cure without any surgery. If I/we knew for sure exactly what
was wrong and what might help to heal the condition I know the body is
pretty amazing in it's ability to correct itself.

I'm afraid if I go to the clinic it will be like going to a restaraunt
with a menu of surgical options to choose from and i'm really still
looking and desperately hoping for a solution without undergoing any
surgery.

If you have sinus problems, you should see an ENT.  A good ENT won't
just treat the sinusitis, but will refer you to allergists and whoever
else is needed, in order to try to find the cause of the problem.

Unfortunately, Dr. Lanza is no longer with the Cleveland Clinic, so I
don't know who else they have there that's any good.  You might try
telephoning Dr. Lanza in Florida, and asking him who at the Cleveland
Clinic you should see.  Dr. Lanza might have been the best they had.
But if he's the best, there has to be a second best!

I agree that Dr. Lanza was the best they had there and wouldn't know who to
recommend. Also, Steven is correct in that you can call Florida and ask
him who he would suggest. My experience there was quite positive because I
had a great relationship with Lanza from the start. They say the guy that
replaced him is pretty good but I can't remember his name.
