.Hello... I'm curious... How come any threads that mention hydrogen
peroxide whip through this group like diarrhea? ....Just a guess here,
but I bet the future will see this chemical being touted as a front-line
treatment for sinusitis, as opposed to snorting some antibiotic
concoction.    ....Jon

The salt, baking soda and peroxide recipe has been around a long time.
Check this site  http://www.aasj.com/tip_salt.htm   Doctor's have
downplayed the use of peroxide in sinus irrigation feeling that it may
damage the sinus cavities over a period of time. Can-Do took this recipe
from someplace on the web and passed it off as his brainchild. For the
most part, I for one, have seen the various threads that were
started/responded to by Can-Do and felt it was not worthwhile to make
any additional comments on the subject.

I've heard that doctors are afraid that the peroxide will damage the tiny
sinus hairs. After three years of doing about 50 sinus floodings with
peroxide, my sinuses are the BEST they have ever been! I can't believe that
I suffered from so much misery for so many years, when there was a simple
solution. If my little, tiny, itsy hairs are damaged, so be it.

You said: "Can-Do took this recipe from someplace on the web and passed it
off as his brainchild."

The chicken or the egg? I did read about irrigating the sinuses, with a
diluted mixture of peroxide, before I experimented with my first flooding.
But, I never read about the technique of lowering the head and flooding the
sinuses.

Now I see that others are recommending this technique, and including baking
soda and kosher salt. I hope that it spreads all over the Internet and that
a thousand people take credit for the idea.

I was excited about the sinus flooding technique, but I still waited two
years before posting my experiences. I wanted to make sure that it worked,
and that it was safe.

My motivation for spending so much time spreading the news?

People are frightened of pouring peroxide into their sinuses, especially
when you cannot believe everything that you read on the Internet.

Also...... ENTs might not want to push the sinus flooding, with peroxide, as
a treatment for sinus infection, due to the low payback. ENTs make a lot
more money if their patients keep coming back.

"whip through this group like diarrhea"??? I couldn't of said it better
myself! <g>

...All I know is I've used it maybe 1/2 dozen times, especially when I
feel a flare-up coming on. ...I don't know what it does inside, but I do
know it ended the pain around and below my eyeball (caused by
infection), where 3 years of 3X per day, straight salt water irrigation
(and a multitude of levaquin pills) had no effect.  Personally  ...I
think the antibiotic up the nose regimen is a waste of time. Had no
effect at all on my sinusitis.  ....Now the H2O2. .....Well after the
first use (where it stung like hell), I was blowing out blood and mucus
into my bath tub.  ...I would suggest you keep right on spreading the
word about H2O2, CanDo.  I would sure like to read if anyone else has
tried it -- and if they noticed any improvement..     ....Jon

Thanks for the feedback, Jon. I especially liked the fact that the flooding
is really working for you and that you have not overused the procedure. It
worries me when I get feedback from people who do daily peroxide sinus
floodings.

You said that it relieved your pain around your eyeball. Does that mean that
the infection was in or around your ethmoidal sinuses? Or..... the pain
under your eye....... that's the upper part of the Maxillary sinuses. Could
it have somehow gotten in there? I wish I knew why it works in places that
are difficult to reach.

Jon, there has been feedback from peroxide sinus flooders, in many forums
around the internet, like the yahoo sinus forums, the curezone sinus forum,
and the onlineinstitute forum, but the most feedback has been in
www.healthboards.com . PreciousJames, who lives in Taiwan, has just had
significant results using the peroxide sinus floodings. To read more about
his successful treatment, follow this link:
http://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?p=1172514#post1172514 .

Thanks for the encouragement! I will keep spreading the word, and thanks to
you for also spreading the word!

Hi CanDo.... My sinusitis is mainly restricted to my ethmoids and lower
frontals. Some days (even without noticable symptoms), if I put some
pressure on my right eyeball, I would feel some pain. This is one
symptom that I couldn't get rid of with my normal irrigation regimen.

..I'm not normally bothered by the maxillary, but I have had periodic
pain when putting pressure on the bone directly below my eye. Don't know
if this is somehow related to the ethmoid infection.   ...Jon

I tried it a few times......probalbly 10-15 times both upside down and
rightside up. It foamed and it ran like crazy. All it ever did for me
was agrivate my sypmtoms. It also made it hard for me to sleep the
following evening. My sinuses were so inflamed I guess. My symptoms
have always been runniness and not congestion so that may be where the
problem lies.

The first time I tried the H2O2, my nose was sore and stuffed up for a
few days. I thought it had made matters worse.  ....But when the "smoke"
had cleared, I noticed that the pain around my eye was significantly
reduced. I wasn't sure whether the improvement was due to the work of
the H202, or simply from the burning irritation (which caused the
sinuses to automatically purge themselves).  ...After subsequent uses,
however, I've come to the conclusion that it actually is working towards
fighting the infection, itself.  ...Now, If I feel a flare up coming on,
I'll usually give my sinuses a good shot of the H202 (while everything
is still relatively clear.)   ...Jon
