Having had so many problems since my deviated septum surgery, and having
gone to any number of doctors--with no assistance whatsoever--I called my
ENT to ask again, did he do anything with the turbinates during the
surgery. He said that he had done a reconstruction of the turbinates. I am
not sure what exactly that means and if that has been the cause of the
terrible mucous and phlegm down my throat since then. I am so hoarse from
coughing and choking this up.

Any input or insight would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I doubt it - it sounds to me as if you have an infection.

I would get a second opinion from an expert you select from your own research
(not one suggested by the firs surgeon).  I would check with a majo University
Medical Center....

I had experience similar experience. So much problem after a
supposedly "septoplasty" only.

I asked the ENT in writing of what exactly was done.

Three turbinates were resected, reduced or were litterally "damaged"
(your ENT used the work "reconstruction"), and all as done without my
knowledge.

The first year I wanted to killed myself becuase of the pain and
problem that it caused.

I went and see two other ENTs, all said my nose look OK?!?!

It setled down a bit now in term of pain, but the obstruction and
problem of having a impaired turbinates system remain for life.

here is what may happen to me, the airways became smaller whislt the
ability of my nose to lubricate and cool the fricton has been reduced.

Let's hope that your airways are OK, and the inflame caused by the
injured lining is temporary, the boydy will have it repaired overtime.

In the meantime use some method of saline irrigation to relief the
symptoms.

There is a patient called valerie (VP) who is also experiencing the
phelm/choking 24hours/7days, she moved from a colder state to florida
sometimes a go.

she just posted some info on this site

you can get a lot of relief from your post turbinectomy surgery from Brathe
ease XL nasal gel and I can send you some to try.
