Root Cause of Sinusitis and polyps?

I've been looking for the root cause of MY sinus problems and polyps, and
this morning I think I may have found it.

I'm a woodworker and as such, I generate plenty of sawdust, some of which
ends up in my nose. What happens to sawdust when you add over 50%
humidity? Mold and fungus.

So here, all this time I've been treating the symptoms, not the cause.

So now I am coming up with a new plan, to get my diseased sinus tissue
back to healthy tissue. I am going to try to reduce the inflammation,
treat the bacterial infection, AND try to eliminate the source of the
problem, mold and fungus.

To do that I am going to use capsicum to reduce the swelling, colloidal
silver instead of antibiotics to treat any bacterial/viral infection, and
GSE to get rid of the root cause.

But what I am really wondering is how many others out there are
woodworkers, have spouses that are woodworkers, or are in an environment
that has wood dust? Please write back and let me know!

Thanks,

Mike...

If we agree, just for a moment, that the cause is wood mold/fungus, then
how would you describe what happens when you drink distilled alcohol,
drink beer (with yeast), eat homemade bread (with yeast).

I think many of us are in agreement that doing any of the above can
aggravate our sinusitis and cause a yellow discharge. What I don?t
understand is how.

Is it the sugar in the alcohol feeding the mold in our nose increasing the
inflammation? Is it the yeast feeding the mold in our nose that causes the
sinuses to swell up?

Can anyone shed some more light on this subject?

Thanks,

Mike?

That is likely the problem.

These are highly doubtful.

No..

Very plausible.

If you control your own work environment, there is a very simple change that
will make an enormous differerence - increase ventillation!    Heat or cool the
rest of the building and open  a window wide open you if you can.

This last is what will help.

These are unlikely to be helpful.    They are in the outright scam / obscure
possibility category.

Not enough, because a woodworker keeps his face close to the wood he's
working on.

He should wear a respirator.

Hello,

Silly, silly. i hardly think Jesus wore a respirator.

All he needs is a simple surgical mask or even at that,
a wet bandana wrapped around his face would have been
enough in the beginning.

Actually, back then I think they made more chips than dust.

But the real question I had was, IF mold and fungus is the root cause of
sinusitis and polyps, what is the treatment? What will make my sinuses
healthy again?

Eliminating or  reducing the mold and fungus that you breathe.in.

Probably nothing else will do it at this point because you have e sensitized to
them..

I have the same issue with sensitivity to dust in my case.

as a rule it is not the wood that offends the nose but the varuous paints and
varnishes.
yOu wash your hands after work, why not wash your nose? Simple saline lavage
removes the paterial and pulsatile irrigation helps restore cilia function.
If your hands were "sick" from the wood and varnish, would you first use drugs
or first wash the hands?

Hello,

Yes, rinse out the nose with a teaspoon on salt in a pint of water,
after
coming home from work. You can purchase the "saline" (actually salt in
water)
at a drug store under "Medic" (Saline Nasal Spray). After the bottle
is
empty make your own solution of the one teaspoon salt to one pint of
water,
then put it in the bottle and use gently. You must wash the nasal
passage
gently enough to not force any sawdust, bacteria, fungus etc. into the
sinuses - be GENTLE with the wash/spray . . . Any time you use FORCE,
into
the nasal passage, you must be using a medication in the bottle, and
should
be doing it under the guidance of a DOCTOR  only. The nose is a great
thing
that saves our sinuses and lungs, so donot abuse it - be gentle.
However if you would just use a simple, surgical, face mask, which can
be
purchased at any medical, supply store (where you purchased Grandma's
crutches) you wouldnot have so much to worry about.

Wear a respirator when you work.

And as soon as you're ready to leave work, change your clothes so that
you're not tracking sawdust into your house from your clothing.
