Can root canals promote bacteria to be trapped in the canaliculi? ( Such as
anaerobic bacteria?) I'm wondering if the trapped bacteria can trigger
  chronic sinusitis?    Any comments?

I tihnk what Dr. Grossan has said in the past is that this can happen if the
infection breaks open a fistula into the sinus.

Normally it would show up on a panoramic dental xray if so....
