Hello,  I'm a lifelong severe allergy sufferer who has had many chronic sinus
infections.

Came down with acute sinusitis in April that didn't respond to 3 weeks antibiotics.
Saw ENT and he suggested surgery. Saw infectious disease Dr who ordered sinus CT scan
showing acute and chronic sinusitis esp. left maxillary sinus.

Started gluten and sugar free diet on May 15th along with oral nystatin (prior
history of candida problems).
Improved somewhat until the grass seed pollen recently exploded and now left
maxillary area plugged again.

I've been using the Grossan Hydro-pulse for about a week (many thanks Dr Grossan) and
I wondered if there was a best technique for usage when the left maxillary area often
remains congested with plugged up feeling.

Should I start with applicator in L side of nose or right side? Which side is best
for clearing left sinus?

Thanks again to Dr Grossan for such a good tool. The thick phlegm coming from my nose
would never have come loose without nasal irrigation and the acute infection cycle
couldn't have been broken with just drugs.

Thanks for the great newsgroup.  Very helpful group.

So glad you are getting benefit. Wow! in only on week. Your quiestion re best
way to use irrigator. :
When you use the Hydro Pulse you need to bend your head down so you can see the
drain. The head should NOT be turned . If you look in the mirror your ears are
at the same horizontal line.
The benefits of Hydro Pulse comes from the flow. It is NOT a hose stuck in the
sinus. If you bend your head you may direct the flow at the septum or side of
the nose; it is better if it is directed to the dead center of the nose.
Do not sniff or spit . If you wish to do these stop irrigation. These actions
will reaise the pressure which is not desireable - the almost one inch high is
the correct pressure, keep it at that spot.
Let us know if you have other questions.
DON'T FORGET THE TEA AND LEMON TILL YOUR URINE TURNS LIKGHT!
The benefit of the Hydro Pulse is in restoring cilia movement, the tea and
compresss to the nose are important too.

Dr Grossan,

Thanks for your time, comments and suggestions. I"ve been drinking green and
herb tea, but will remember to add the lemon. I'll try to resist sniffing
and spitting. My posture has been ok. My maxillary sinus feels much better
today despite another increase in local grass pollen levels. I see my
internist on thursday and I think he'll be surprised that I think I've
figured out how to avoid sinus surgery by using your Hydro Pulse. Going back
on nystatin and eliminating glutens, sugar and corn fructose from my diet
have also helped give my immune system the jump start it desparately needed
to break the cycle of constant sinus infection that was going on.  I'd been
sick since March 10th.

It's really great to be able to breathe somewhat clearly for a change !!!
thanx,       spam2death

Doctor -

If I may, you missed answering one of the questions.  For an affected
sinus, which is the more effective nostril?  L/L R/R or L/R R/L?

And if I might add another question:  Should the affected side be done
first or second?

Thanks in advance.
...best, Capt N.

It is not critical to do one nostril vs the other. It is often easier to strart
with the "normal " side first as that will help open the affected side.
