Hi folks. I am new to this site but felt that I had to join after reading
some of the posts regarding SinoFresh. I know that you will all consider
me biased but I am with the company and I am a pharmacist with 20 yrs
experience in drug development in the pharmaceutical industry. I would
like to advise you all that we have a toll free number on our website for
questions. I have seen several inaccurate statements on this site,
including those made by physicians and pharmacists. I would be happy to
discuss your concerns over the phone or by email. The growth of our
company would suggest that we are for real. Our product is sold in over
20,000 retail outlets from coast to coast. This growth happend within the
last year!!
We are located in south Florida. Normal business hours are 8-5. Thanks for
reading this and I look forward to speaking to those with questions.

The problem/concern with the product is the possible/probable adverse
effects of the preservative - inactive ingredient used: Benzalkonium
Chloride which is known to cause adverse effects. Get rid of that and
then it might be a viable, helpful product.

I'm glad to see you post.

Why don't you post the innacurate statements and refute them right here.  That
is really the idea of a Usenet group, to have the discussion online within the
group, not offline.

Also please explain here how your product works and how it differs from others.

That is quite proper to do once a discussion about a product is started.  I

Thanks!

Ephedrine is sold all over the place.  Well, it was before it
became banned by the FDA.

I posted a rather lenghty post but it never appeared. It is listed in my
personal page but I can't get to it. I think this forum is too complicated
for me so I will give up. Sorry, I really wanted to contribute but have
little patience and less time.

It did appear.if it is the one below.   I replied to it too.  If you cannot
post another article, please email it to me and I will post it for you.

I thenk this is an important discussion - please continue posting for the
benefit  everyone.

AOL probably not great for newsgroups.  What you could do it subscribe to
giganews.com at the cheapest rate and use a decent newsreader such as
http://www.forteinc.com/agent/ .

Then things would be sooo much easier for you...

Or maybe someone here who uses AOL could help him?

Thanks!

Don

I will try to give enough info in this post to get a discussion going. We
can deal with one or two issues at a time or it will get too involved.
Probably the most important issue is that of BKC, the preservative. In a
recent article in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Sugery-Jan 2004 a review of
the scientific (and I stress scientific) literature was conducted. 18 BKC
studies were reviewed buy ENT physicians/researchers from the U of Texas
Southwestern Medical Center.
Conclusion: "Intranasal products containing the preservative BKC appear to
be safe and well tolerated for both long- and short-term clinical use."
I know that there are concerns regarding this but to categorically make
statements regarding BKC being toxic are unfounded in the literature.
Next is the issue on how it works. Current thinking in the ENT community
regarding sinusitis is that it is most likely an inflamatory condition
rather than just infectious. The inflamation in some people is due to, not
just the presence but the concentration of micro-organisms (including
mold). In these patients, this presence causes the facial pressure/pain,
headaches, dry (not wet) congestion and post-nasal drip. SinoFresh was
designed to reduce this concentration to manageable levels so that the
tissue can return to it's normal state thereby reducing/eliminating the
symptoms. The results are typically seen in 5-7 days.
The antiseptic (active) has been in use for 50-60 years with an excellent
safey profile.
I will leave it there for now and will try to contribute on a daily basis
(M-F). We can deal with one or two issues at a time if there is any
interest. I will usually respond by referring to our clinical
observations, literature references or current Medical thinking.
Thanks for letting me contribute,
Bill

Don:

Or maybe he chooses not to post since Dr. G's response might hurt his
efforts at selling his wares.

Mel,

I think he intends well and has a good contribution to make here.

In fact, he sent me some email  and I am working on trying to help him post his
original article so stay tuned....
