I'm going thru the same situation. should I spend 80 on an irrigation
system that pulses or 30 on the nose attachment alone and use my
waterpick. Grossan states the pulses are important.

If it's identical then just get the waterpick. Mine has lasted years.
I use a splash of peroxide for my sinus and then when done, a full
strenght peroxide to flush in the tubes and keep the pick clean. It's
as good as new

Which? The WP or HP?
If it's the HP, it only has a one year warranty, so you have no recourse. If
it's a WP, they have a 2 year warranty, you can call them and they'll send a
new one.

The nasal attachments cost $30 now???? Unbelievable. They must be cheaper
somewhere. There are different brands.
The Hydropulse is not the only unit where the water pulses. So does the
Waterpik, so does the Conair Interplak unit. Besides, there is not really
any evidence that the pulsation produces better results.

I was kinda dubious about that. I went ahead and bought your product.
Counting down the days till I get it. Damn my frontal sinus is killing
me. Irrigation rules!

I understand there are different seals on the hydropulse that make it withstand
salt.. is this true?
yes, water pik uses rubber seals . These tend to dissolve and I was worried
that the rubber getting into the nose might cause or aggrevate a latex
allergy. Hydro Pulse is entirely rubber/ latex free. Seals are silicone.
Amazing how many persons have latex sensitivity and I wonder if using old
rubber syringes that break down into partilces might be a factor.

also chck with your insurance carrier. Since the JAMA Feb 18 , 04 article on
excess antibiotics and breast cancer, more companies are paying for the Hydro
Pulse.

Well, I have a cold now, and I irrigate all the time. I couldn't last a day
without irrigation, as my nose gets so full of junk.
Although the Waterpiks do often go bad from use of saline, the company is
very good about replacing them, or replacing the handle. (Often it's the
handle that gets clogged.)
Call them, tell them about the problem (probably safest not to mention that
you use saline in it, and just say that you use plain water, although that
might not make a difference). They will ask for the model # and serial # on
your unit. They might even ask you to run the unit and put the phone by it,
so they can hear the motor.
They usually will either send you a new unit or new handle (easy to put on)
right away. They don't require that you send the old one in first.

I think the Conair-Interplak irrigator is more sturdy than the Waterpik, and
doesn't have as many problems. As I think I mentioned in another post, in
most respects I like that unit better (and it's cheaper than the Waterpik)
(I have both), but I end up using the Waterpik more due to the larger tank.
For people for whom a 500 ml tank is sufficient, you might find the
Interplak unit quite sufficient. Quieter than the WP, rotary pressure
control on tank rather than on handle, etc.
Regarding whether the Hydropulse unit holds up better--I haven't used one,
so cannot comment on that myself. It has been out several months now, and I
think some readers here bought one when they first came out. Could people
who have been using one regularly for months comment, whether you have had
any problems with the unit? If so, how good was the company in dealing with
warranty replacement and repair? (As mentioned, the Waterpik company is very
good about that.) I do wonder why the Hydropulse only has a one year
warranty, whereas both the Waterpik and Interplak irrigators have two year
warranties.
Still curious, if someone who has the Hydropulse to look at the box and tell
us where it was made, since someone who has something to do with the product
wrote and criticized the WP and IP for being "made in China". I guess if he
is going to criticize where those products are made, we should know where
his are made. I think I recall that when I saw one in a store, months ago, I
saw on the box "made in Taiwan". (I'm not sure about that though, a vague
recollection.) If that's the case, why is "made in Taiwan" denote better
quality than "made in China"?
