I just ran into a post in the archives about using Astelin and Flonase
together and someone replied saying he'd tried but but dropped them
and now uses and MSM spray and has never felt better.

Anyone got a clue what an MSM spray is?

Could this be the MSM that people take as a supplement to help
alleviate arthritic conditions.

here's the post - it was made back on 12/18/2002

Steve; I have used both Astelin and Flonase a few years ago for a
period
of several years with mixed results, and found that I had developed
glaucoma
in one eye. Searches on the internet revealed that ALL nasal steroids
can result in glaucoma Check the fine print on the circular in the
flonase pkg.
I also found I developed a tolerance to Astelin, and it lost
effectivity with
use. I finally stumbled on what works for me. I have both allergic
rhinitis,
and sinus. I now use a MSM spray morning and night, and have never
felt better.
I'll never risk use of steroid sprays again. Do a Google search on the
phrase
"Glaucoma Nasal Steroid Spray" using the "all the words" block. Hope
this
helps. I don't know of any serious side effects for Astelin.

Excellent! - thanks very much. This was most helpful. I see it's
posted on a site called quackwatch.org, so they must view MSM as a
bogus supplement.
