Is this normal? because I think I used to be able to breathe through
both sides of my nose when I was little but ever since about Gr. 2 or
3 only one side of my nose has been able to take air in and take air
out.

The turbinates swell alternately on each side at about 6 hour intervals.

But it sounds as if you have inflammation of the turbinate(s) becuase of
allergy or other reasons.

You could see a specialist to be sure....

It's not normal, and only an otolaryngologist (ENT) has the equipment
and training to diagnose what the cause is.

In my case, my left nostril was so swollen shut that my ENT couldn't
even get his endoscope thru there.
