I need sinus surgery for Turbinate reduction, a crooked septum and many
polyps. My insurance co is now about 5 weeks away from a answer. The
nurse says it takes 2 weeks but sometimes there slow. If the insurance
Co. says no (for whatever reason) does anyone know what it cost? For a
crooked septum to be straight plus polyps removed, plus turbinate
reduction. What is I dont have the money? Will A Doctor still do the
polyps only? That was the worst of the 3 things he said that must be
done. But he want to do all 3 while im under. And 2 Doctors said the
same. So about how much is it for polyp removal...... I have heard the
price for all 3 can be 13,000.00 Anybody know? even a close estimate?
Thank you

It easily cou.d be that and more, depending on who does it.

I doubt the insurance company would say no, though - we have not heard of that
happening much in the area of sinus surgery.  What they often do is negotiate
directly with the doctor and hospital on the total fee.  Possibly they are
doing that....

Ask the surgeon who recommended the surgery to you.  He knows.  Because
he's the one who will send the bill to the insurance company.

By calling your doctors office, hospital, anethesiologist, etc.you can
get exact charges based on the procedures to be performed. What you
have to be aware of is often the surgeon will find something else in
there that requires a additionl procedure hence additionl charges from
all parties involved because it took longer than expected.13000 is a
very modest figure for all those procedures.Just the polyp surgery
alone could encompass several different procedures.Ask your ENT very
specifically about the extent of your polyps. If it turns out you have
to pay, explain ypur situation to the person in charge of billing prior
to the surgery and see if any discounts apply.  Good Luck   Russ
