I have been dealing with a bad, metalic taste in my mouth lately.  I
know it is coming from my sinuses.  I don't have any teeth problems
and no infected gums.  It is just a God-awful taste.  I actually have
had several days of few sinus problems.  I have been washing out my
sinuses with the waterpic.  I don't seem to have that much of that
sensitivity pressure in the sinuses.  So why the bad taste?

Hi fred.

I've had sinus troubles for years but it never had any effect on my
sense of taste and smell until recently.  There's no doubt in my mind
that it has to do with the irrigation and other things I'm doing to
stir things up in my sinuses.

My sense of taste and smell has been diminished for several days now.
I also had a bad taste like you describe for much of this past
weekend.  That seems to have subsided but still problems with sense of
smell especially.

It may be way too early to declare success but I washed my sinuses
with the saline solution with Hydrogen peroxide.  The feeling was very
soothing after I was though and the bad taste abated.  Of course, this
has to stand the true test of time - that is, will I have that bad
taste tommorow, the next day, the next week....
You say your sinus problems have been for years - I have been dealing
with this since I was 13 - 45 years ago.  I really wonder what I could
have become had I not been hindered with this chronic problem.

I did a little research and found the work "Dysgeusia" - this is a
metalic bad taste in your mouth.  There are a number of causes for
this condition so if you are interested, check it out on Google.
