I have been using a neti pot to irrigate for a few weeks. I got a grossan attachment for my water pik and used it today. I really like it but adjusting the stream to an inch high is a bit tricky with the model I have. I used it with a higher stream and had no discomfort. My question is though, can using it on a higher setting do any damage?

The higher pressure could force infected mucus into an uninfected area
like the ears. This would happen if the pressure backs up for some
reason (don't pinch your nostrils...).
If your WaterPik won't adjust, you may want to consider buying Grossan's
irrigator (or a new Water Pik).
IMHO: if you use a higher setting, keep it as near to an inch as
possible. I wouldn't irrigate if it's shooting 7" above...

You can check with your insurance to see if they will reimburse you for the
Hydro Pulse Nasal/ Sinus Irrigator.

The stream should be onel inch high . This is the setting that works best, a
higher setting is not recommended.
