i just got back from my therapist. I am really having touble with
anger issues because of my sinus history. I mentioned before that I
noticed problems with my sinuses when I was 13. I used to have an
entire nasal passage swelled shut because it was full with mucus. I
would have drowsy attacks at inconvenient times. This led to school
punishment, a car wreck, and job firings. Nowdays, my nose just
drains a lot and I do not have the swelled nasal passage. I have a
lot af gaps now in my employment history. I am dealing with not
getting hired because of these gaps. I am really mad! I don't know
how to overcome this problem. I presently have a part time job as a
machinist. I am an engineer and cannot find a job in engineering
because of employment history. What do you do when you have been
dealt a hand like this. All i can say is that I no longer have the
apnea problems that resulted from my nasal passages completly closing
up in the middle of the night.

Fred:
Everyone has something.
You need to do a cost benefit analysis on being mad.
Chronic sinusitis is a curable infectious disease caused by
colonization of virally damaged tissue by bacterial biofilms. It is
debilitating and depressing, no fun and no one chooses to have it.
It is not your Mother's fault. Not the fault of her friends and or her
relatives. Cigarette smoke is blamed for everything, but nicotine is a
diffusible bactericide, and smoking was practiced by the American
Indians prescribed in the age before antibiotics because people who
smoked were less likely to contract TB.
I am not saying that tobacco smoke can not be a problem in it's own
right or that it is not nausea causing, but if you have thick clear
springy mucus tobacco smoke is an irritant, not the root cause of your
problems.
Your mother did not cause it, and it was not in her power to cure.
Medical science could have done better, but hopefully they will do
better in the future.
If you want to direct your anger productively put together an
informational website to keep the information from being buried in the
noise.
Anger elicits the production of dopamine receptors.
It is potentially additive just like other things that elicit dopamine
production, but anger steals your life and the life of everyone around
you. I have known many partly disabled people who are joyful people
and have big social networks because they are easy and undemanding to
be around. I also have a number of impatient petty friends who gossip
about other people as their primary form of entertainment and
routinely turn on me every once and a while because they are bored.
Don't try to be cheerful, even tempered and good natured, just drop
the anger and BE cheerful, even tempered and good natured for 3
straight weeks and you will greatly enhance the chances that you will
get a job.
And by the way, I am an engineer and two people that I know who do
very well, better than I do, are a pair of bonded dog walkers and one
lady who is a not so starving glass artist so their is hope in unusual
places doing what one loves.

Part of the process is trying to dissapate the anger - thus my posting
on this group. This sinus thing has kept me in such a depressed state
for so long. I really am having trouble accepting the fact that I
feel better and that I am not waking up so anxiety ridden as I have
for so many years from the induced apnea. I look back at mom. She
was lonely and depressed. The people she allowed in our house would
create so much cigarette tar that mom would have to paint the cielings
every 6 months. I used to have to report to an office where there was
so much smoke that I would stink of it at the end of the day. The
smoke particles settled in my lungs and bronchial tubes and gave me
trouble with drowsiness and chronic sinus and bronchail infections.
It is not cool to be drowsey in public. It is not a good thing when
you are so sick that you cannot stand up for your own rights because
you are running a chronic bronchial an sinus infection. Just living a
life of chronic health problems. This helps create a poor work
history. Employers hire you from your work history - not because of
your looks. I have to deal with this in the present and this is why I
feel this internal pressure within me.

Everyone has a story.
My Mom was a social worker and over the years I have seen little kids
that were terribly sick and maybe 15-18 children who were behind in
school because they were deaf from ear infections. When academic
excellence is the only road to out of poverty, being deaf makes it
tough for them to ever get anywhere. (But many do!)
You and we and about 35,000,000 other people in the US and England
have this disease.
Howard Hughes suffered from it after he damaged his sinuses using
liquid ox when flying over the Himalayas..
Until the cause of the disease is recognized and effective treatment
and preventative treatment becomes common, everyone suffers. Society
suffers.
Evidently the I B has killed off your infection. I remember a French
study from 2003 which I was never able to find again about using it in
combination with an antibiotic against biofilms. Since it is a
compound similar to atropine that can't cross the blood brain barrier,
it probably paralyzes them. Good on you.
So celebrate being better!
Quit living your life steering by the rear view mirror. Time's a
wasten.
I have had my nose lose up at night lately, then in the morning when I
am up it will start to drain or drip.
Then I take 2 Aleve to keep them draining.
Last night I decided to take 2 Aleve before I went to sleep. I was not
congested this morning for the first time in 3 weeks.
Sometimes I get so desperate when my MD cannot help, or wants to order
another medicine. I try other ways to help myself.
