I have just purchased a beta glucan supplement derived from a yeast
(Saccharomyces cerevisiae) which, from published studies, does appear
to have some positive effect on the human immune system and ability to
fight bacterial infection.  I realize there have been some postings
about this in the past, however would appreciate any input on the
following:-

1. Appropriate dosage -- the capsules I purchased are 500 mg. (for me
this is about 5.5 mg/kg)

2. How long should I wait to experience an effect (if there is going
to be any); is 30 days a sufficient trial ?

3. Should it be taken continuously or only for periods of infection
'flares' ?

Many thanks,

Michael

Personally, I take the 250 mg dose every day. It seemed to help pretty
quickly.
