I hate the state of things. I have had to deal with chronic anxiety
and sinus problems. I found that a lot of the anxiety was due to
apnea conditions where my sinuses would swell shut after I fell
asleep. This has left wide gaps in my employment history. I have a
small home business but I am mainly unemployed now. The economy is
bad. I really hate going through the syntex required to get on
Monster and send out a resume. Some companies are really rediculous.
You send a resume and then they have a separate area where they want
you to fill in a company form. The resumes are all electronically
scanned. There is no personal touch in anything. Almost everyone has
some form of health history. We are being required/forced to work
more hours to achieve just the status quo. I think that we are going
to have a serious change of government in the next election. I just
think that it will take years for this economy to stabilize. I just
hate the way things have become. President Bush doesn't have to worry
about unemployment, health issues, or retirement. The rest of us do.

Fred:
Get up, go into the bathroom, look at the mirror and say:
"If it is to be,
it is up to me.
No fate but what we make."
If it is to be,
it is up to me.
No fate but what we make.
If there is to be justice, I must be just.
If there is to be mercy
I must be merciful.
If there is to be good humor,
I must be good humored.
If there is to be kindness,
I must be kind.
For God has no hands on this earth
Other than yours and mine.

It seems like sinuses are like odors. They are terrible psychological
triggers. I have been dealing with the sinus thing since I was about
13. This is when I started having trouble with drowsiness and sinus
spasms. I have been able to overcome the drowsieness but still have
spasms and a lot of sinus draining. It is hard to get over a lifetime
of chronic drowsieness when I was fired, punished, and had trouble
preforming with my brain fog. I am having trouble finding a job
becasue of the past problems. They are triggers and I am working on
overcoming these triggers.

Fred:
What will it take to make the world a better place?
Save the world, Save youself.
The world takes a lot of saving, everything from Sinus sufferers to
Sumatran Tigers and local villagers who are loosing their homes and
lives to clear cutting need help and protection.
The quality of a person's life depends on the strength and quality of
one's relationships.
You can improve the quality of your own life by looking beyond
yourself and form blame-free relationships with like minded people.

Society has changed. I come from a culture where many people
immigrated to America in the early 50s. Most of these people have
gotten very old or have died. The clubhouses are almost empty. Other
places are also sparsly represented and it is getting harder and
harder to connect. I went to 24 hour fitness a couple of nights ago.
I was in the hot tub with 3 other guys. One was cupping his head in
his hands, another was looking at the cieling. It is getting
incredibly difficult even getting a conversation started. I know that
when I am at the post office, book store or other places, I always
look for an opportunity to be friendly and playful. Ths is what
happened with a mother and little 2 year old daughter at the book
store last night. I don't think it is me as much as it is society.
There are people that are sitting at their computer stations for
hours. They have 50,000, 100,000 and up to 300,000 posts. They
mainly live past the midnight hour when everyone else is sleeping.
These people spend hours on their computers accomplishing absolutly
nothing. Most are on disability and the computer is their life.
Between internet sex, playing with atavars, and flaming other people
in the news groups, these people do not have a life. Many more
"normal" people are unsuccessfully trying the internet dating scene or
are just staying home to watch their DVD's. The computer has not
changed our lives in a more positive way. It has caused isolation and
a very impersonal society.

As far as the government, we get what we deserve, because we elected
them. Things will change, and I hope the economy improves.
Some people find hope and strength in religion. I am agnostic, but I
have found wisdom in religious texts.
As the Buddhists say, "Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water;
after enlightenment, chop wood, carry water."
To quote St. Theresa of Avila, "Christ has no body on earth but ours, no
hands but ours, no feet but ours. Ours are the eyes through which the
compassion of Christ looks out upon the world, ours are the feet with
which he goes about doing good, ours are the hands with which he blesses
his people."
You have the power to control your life, to help yourself and to help
others. The choice is yours to make.
