Hi again:

I'm still suffering from terrible nasal congestion (sometimes one side, sometimes both, forehead pressure, eyes feel like they are burning with pressure behind them and am pretty swollen in the face (cheeks, eyelids etc) in the am. My front top teeth sometime get numb.

I've tested positive for dust, dist mites and a delayed reaction to Asperelligus (sp?)

I have a totally deviated Septum and huge Turbinates.

We have already tried two courses of Antibiotics, stopping Hypertension meds, neti-pot irrigation, and two runs of grindstone. The C-scan shown minor sinus disease (inflammation, thickening) in the frontal and Ethmoid sinuses as does the MRI. They do not show any invasive fungus, polyps, or significant bacterial infection/fluid

My current ENT is sending me off to see Winston Vaughn at Stanford for an eval for early Allergic Fungal sinus problems. His thinking is I need the Turbinates reduced and the septum corrected and then, depending of Vaughn's diagnosis, nasal lavages with cortisone and anti-fungal solutions.

Anyone have thoughts on Turbinate reduction and deviated septum surgery? My ENT thinks that the structural problems are creating pressure in my sinus (hence the headache) and not allowing them to heal. Plus he is concerned about the AFS issue.

Thanks!
