I am dealing with chronic rhinitis. I don't start to drain until I
get up. Within about 10 to 15 minutes of being upright, I start to
drain. The mucus is very watery. It comes on so quickly that
sometimes I drip before I can get a tissue. I can be busy on the
computer and the mucus just drips down onto my lips and into my
mouth. I do have Ipratropium Bromide perscription and Nasarel - a
topical steroid. I now have these next to my comupter and will use
them more frequently to try to stop the drip. My question is "How
frequently should I use these meds?" and "How soon can I expect some
relief after aggressivly using these meds?". I have had a lifetime
of nasal problems. I used to have problems with my nasal passages
clogging up and then having problems with drowsiness and upper
respiratory infections. I have been able to keep my nasal passages
cleaner at this time but instead of clogging up and becoming infected,
the sinuses just seem to drain either with a runny nose or a lot of
post nasal drip. I have been successful at opening my sinuses with a
spray of Afrin. I am careful not to overuse this drug. I also will
start to wash my sinuses a little more aggressivly. Maybe with these
three things that I will do concurrently, I may be able to get some
control of this constant drip. It also seems to affect me
neurogically. I have some trouble with depression and anxiety. These
conditions wax and wane. I think there is a direct relationship with
my allergies and my nervous system.

I am the same as you in the mornings, drip, drip. This dripping lasts a
couple of hours.
I take my allergy meds at night but in the winter it does very little
for me.
Since this dripping started (6 months ago) I have not had a sinus
infection though.
I keep a box of Kleenex in every room in our house.
