Does anybody else chart their condition?

I put mine on a calendar and it's about one week infection and about two
weeks of only very slight symptoms.

I have a suspicion that it is a recurring virus.

Up until about ten years ago I got slight herpes lesions on the same
schedule as my sinus infections , but now I don't get any visible herpes
symptoms at all.
I can see a connection but don't want to pay for lab work.

I might try antiviral drugs to experiment.

Let me know if your infection is on an on-off schedule.

AH!

If you want to try experimenting with drugs, I can suggest many more
enjoyable options than antivirals.

I just got back from the lab ... for three separate blood cultures.  I
think there's some possibility that I have a systemic microbial issue
that shows up in weird places, in weird ways, and at weird times.  I
have had many episodes of fever blisters (virus), onychomycosis
(fungus), and -- most recently -- cutaneous staph infections
(bacterial).

I think we're thinking about something rather similar.

Maybe you could look into some targeted diagnostics before you
experiment with Rx drugs ... ALL of which have potential for harm.

Not all lab work is prohibitively expensive.

IF you DO have a problem BECAUSE of a drug that was taken without a
good reason, then you'll be paying for lab work ... and more ... to
try to un-ring THAT bell (I know ALL about this one....).

I say that with concern for your welfare.

I don't think mine correlates to any clear timing pattern or any clear
precedent events.  For my sinuses, it's just a chronic battle with a
few bad-a$$ acute episodes (or more) each year.

Good luck!

Valtrex (valacyclovir) will work on different forms of herpes.
So , I might ask the doctor on the next visit Nov 6th.
