I think I found my (smoking gun) cause of my condition.

After doing a lot of face massage of my sinus maxillary area I traced
tender spots to two or three upper teeth.

My last trip to the dentist about four months ago turned up zero problems
except a sensitive tooth.

Desensitizing toothpaste helped quite a bit.

The two sore spots on my upper teeth start from the root tip of two teeth
and run almost to the maxillary area.

I always thought , for the last couple of years , that the sore spots were
from the sinuses.
But after noticing a little receding of the gums on those teeth with a bit
of hidden plaque and stains I think that I have a minor gum infection.

I read this after searching for a "tooth to sinus route connection".

"Otolaryngology: Research reveals that a dental cause was found in 40.6% of
the sinuses diagnosed with 'chronic maxillary sinusitis'. Etiology must be
investigated to determine if sinusitis is of either rhinogenous or dental
origin.

National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research"

I started treating my teeth with brushing with vinegar with Sonicare
electric toothbrush then baking soda and toothpaste varieties.

The tender spots are diminishing and my sinuses have needed zero treatment
for over two days so far.

Time will tell but I think I was barking up the wrong tree for a very long
unpleasant time.

Anybody else have tender spots between their teeth and sinuses?

This can also work in the reverse.

I had a sore tooth, much like yours.  What was odd was that It had been
root-canaled, some years earlier.  Anyways, it was acting up again.
The Dentist checked the x-rays, but couldn't find anything wrong with
the tooth; however, because I had experienced a few tooth abscesses in
the past (and knew what they felt like), I was sure this was what the
problem was...       Sooo....   The Dentist ended up cutting the gum
right up the side of the tooth to the root tip. ...Although he couldn't
find any infection, he put a small filling in the root tip, just to be
on the safe side.     ...Turns out my problem was in the sinus, and the
tooth was fine.

..I think if you do have maxillary problems, it is possible to
experience referred pain -- or pain which can seem to emmanate from the
upper teeth.  ..In my case, I would have bet a crap-load that my tooth
was the problem.  ...And, unfortunately... I would have lost it all.

Then you do understand why I thought my sinusitis to be localized all these
years.

The three tender spots are directly on the root tip next to the ones with
the most receding gum and plaque buildup.

The tender spots originally ran from the teeth to the maxillary area on both
sides.  After massaging for three days the sinus area stopped being tender
but the tooth root area began to be more tender.

I suppose that I'll never know for sure whether it was the chicken or the
egg that was first but that's what the ENT told me too.

The more I treat my teeth the more my sinusitis improves.  But time will
tell.

I once had an infected tooth that blew out a tonsil , not very pretty.
Thanks.

I get sore spots on my gums too. My DDS says I have receding gums.

What I do for these if they appear after a couple of days after brushing
I put vasoline on the irrated gums. They clear right up within 24 hours.

You have to dry the area with a kleenex that you want to use the
vasoline on.
I just put a small amount on my finger to apply it. No after taste
neither.

Sometimes I burn  my gums with hot coffee or tea and I do this too.

I'll try that .

I have three teeth with receding gums that need a root scaling but I need
to find a good hygienist with ultrasonic scaler whom won't damage my roots
in the process.

Do you rub in the valoline or just rub it on the surface?

My dentist didn't say anything about my calculus but I know that it's an
issue.

Do you have any sinus problems or tenderness above the root areas?

Thanks.

Yes, I have sinus problems now after years of having hay fever and
allergies.
I feel like I have fluid in my ears all the time without any infections
now.

My inner ear is affected and my MD has made an appt for me with a
specialist who specializes in ears, nose and throat
problems.
I have an appt with him on 9/25.
