I am planning to have surgery (implant of a stent) by a plastic surgeon to repair nasal valve collapse which probably resulted from one of my five surgeries over 15 years ago. Although I have little hope that this procedure will affect the poor quality (chronic inflammation, dryness and irritation) of my nasal and sinus mucosa I am doing it in hopes ( a longshot perhaps) that improved breathing may help prevent infection and promote even a little healing. I am desperate for any relief so am going for it. Has anyone out there experienced the procedure? Usually they use grafts from the septum but as I have so little tissue left they are using the implant or possibly some tissue from my ear.
