The problem is that at first it works. Once it suppresses your HPA
axis, it works less and your own body is also less able to produce anti
inflammatory cortisol, and your immune response is suppressed.
Don't ever believe anyone who tells you that there's no risk of
suppression or that long term steroid use, even mild ones at low doses
is safe.

It does lose effectiveness over time as I used eight bottles of Flonaise it
had diminishing returns.
It must be the Loratadine that is doing the trick.
Thanks for the input.

The best way to use a steroid, if possible, is to use it only in the
a.m. (a.m. use suppresses HPA for 12 hours, night time use suppressed
HPA for 24 hours), only every other day, lowest possible/effective dose,
and take a week off every 2-3 weeks.

Haven't we had this exact same discussion numerous times before on this
group?
Steroid sprays are not dangerous for the vast majority of people that use
them as directed.
I use either Flonase or Rhinocort daily for about 9 months of every year and
I have no side effects. I've also seen the testing results done by my
endocrinologist and there are no problems caused by my steroid spray usage.

Really, does he use his X ray vision for that? I tested normal at 8 a.m
. and 4 pm while in the midst of an Addisonian crisis last year.
Subsequently, I tested hypercortisolemic on midnight salivary, 24 hour
urine, and 4 pm ACTH.
Unless and until you've had repeated testing you have no idea whether
you're damaged or not.
You can use nasal steroids much more safely than the instructions allow.
And you don't know if they're not safe for you until your adrenals are
all effed up.
