I've noticed I've been getting some flashes in my eyes recently since I
started getting sinus problem again these last few weeks, is this common or
is it likely to be something else?

I haven't had it for a few years now, since I flushed a bunch of junk
out with an H²O² mixture, but I used to get an odd sort of vision
problem.
Sometimes if I shut my eye, I'd see a flicker effect.  ...It's kind of
hard to explain.  ...Like watching an old 8mm move that's been slowed
down just a bit.

I know that prior to trying the peroxide mixture, I could feel pain if I
pushed on my one eyeball. -- As in rubbing it.  The salt water
irrigation alone did nothing to stop this, but the H²O² mixture
seemed to cure it.   Now I can rub my eyes with no pain, and I don't see
that flicker effect any more either.  I don't have a clue if there's any
connection between the two, but curing one, seemed to cure the other.

I am not sure what the flashes in your eye were like, or how long it
lasted?  But there is such a thing as a visual migraine.  You can have
no pain, but you see a jagged like figure in your eye that flickers.
I have had them and they last up to 5 min.
