The drainage isn't so bad anymore, but the blockage is about the
same. It does swap sides now each morning right after I get out of
bed. This morning I was able to hit both nostrils with Affrin during
the swap. Both nostrils got three sprays while they were mostly
open. The "opening" nostril is certainly more open after the spray,
but the "closing" nostril is still completely closed.
When I had this type of cold/sinus problem years ago it would linger
for weeks or months. I'm hoping I can kick this much sooner as it is
having a significant impact on my work.
Thanks,
David

David,
I think that if the blockage swapping sides that the blocking goo is
actually pretty far back.
I think the normal nose has a septum (barrier between the two sides)
that extends back to just in front of the ears. If the goo is slideing
between one side to the other, it has doing it in the space after the
upper septum ends. That means that you have a decent chance to reduce
the goo load by holding things like vitiman C, licorice and mouthwash
in your mouth, letting them diffuse into the goo and them sniffing it
out the back way.
You can not clear the front of your nose until you clear out the back
which means that you have to sniff, suck and spit it out.
The goo can absorb water to quadruple it's volume as you loosen it,
you will be amazed at the quanity that you will spit out, but if you
keep at it over the course of several weeks you will find that you can
consistantly keep both nostrils open.
