My nose has brought me to hell for 3 years. The synthom is not so
serious like headache but sometimes, I can't sleep at night and feel
really uncomfortable because of the congestant nose. Especially, it
usually gets worse when the weather changes. I know that I have both
allergy and sinusitis but not sure about how serious it is. I took
Claritin D and Nasal spay (nasonex) but the circumstance hasn't
improved. Finding more information about sinusitis, I wanna try some
antibiotic but still hesitate because of its dangerous overdose. Can
you recommend the solution for me? Thanks.

Ask your doctor about using Astelin nasal spray. You may benefit by dust
proofing your bedroom.

I had what you have.
I saw my MD a couple of weeks ago and he asked me what my symptoms were
and gave me Rhinacort AQ.

I use it at  night as my nose seems to close up then. I use it as
needed.

This is the first year that this has happened to me. I suspect it is the
dry air in our house in the wintertime.

I'll second the Astelin recommendation.  For me, I find that I am able
to get rid of a large amount of mucous that I can't whenever I
irrigate (which I've quit doing) or even Mucinex.  It's like a thick
glob.

Maybe someone here could explain why this might be?  Many people got
great benefit from irrigation, although it never helped me that much.
Is it because my problem may be more allergy related than others?

There is no one solution.  Like fingerprints, we're all different. I'd
suggest reading back through some of the past posts here to see the
variety of treatments people have gone through.

I used so many antibiotics (most notably Biaxin XL), possibly
uselessly in the last 3 years, I wouldn't be sure if they worked or
not anymore.  You say you have allergies - were you tested and did the
doctor recommend shots?  That's what has ultimately made the
difference for me.  I've been sick only twice in the last 8 months
since getting them.

Where do you live?  Maybe somebody has a recommendation for a doctor
or two.

Hope some of this helps.

You need to consult a physician.
