All,
If you have eyeglasses and have chronic sinus problems you
may want to inspect the nose pads on your eyeglasses. I just
noticed this morning that there was mold growing around the
nose pad. I think that nose sweat and the convolutions of the
nose pad mount provide a decent home for molds.
I inspected all my glasses and they all had varying degrees of
mold infestation. Even a pair that are probably less than a year
old (I have several) had mold growing on the nose pads. Some
of my glasses looked fine on inspection but when I removed the
nose pad I found mold growing hidden inside the little metal
bucket that serves as a mount for the nose pad (designs vary).
Cleaning is fairly easy but takes a very small screw driver and
high dexterity. If you can't do it have your eyeglass provider
clean or replace your nose pads. Hell, I may have my glasses
professionally cleaned and nose pads replaced annually if it
keeps even one sinus infection away!
How ironic, here I am busting my butt keeping my bathroom,
kitchen, etc mold free and right under my nose, er...on my
nose... is some mold! I don't know if it will really make a
difference but it can't hurt and cleaning my eyeglasses is alot
easier than cleaning my bathroom ;-)

David

Thanks for the reminder. My oldest pair of glasses ( that I only use for
computer ) came out of the closet last year and had fungus on the plastic
parts. I cleaned them with bleach and old toothbrush. Well I just noticed
that some of the fungus came back and I just cleaned them again. I better
pay more attention. Thanks again.

I think its too much cleanliness thats causing the problem.
If you dont let a little of the bad stuff back in your body will always
view it as bad and attack!
