My problem is repeat sinus infections. I may just get 1 or 2 a year and some
years I get none, but the infections have gotten progressively worse (they
last longer, symptoms more severe, etc.)
Anyway, as I posted elsewhere, I almost NEVER have breathing problems. But I
do get miserable sore throats and just that washed out very sick feeling.
It's taking longer and longer courses of antibiotics to fix (I'm usually
stubborn and try to recover without abx. so when that doesn't happen I am
often 3 weeks into the infection).
Next time this happens, doc agrees to have me do a CT Scan.
Of course, that scan will hopefully yield some information but COULD all
this be do to a polyps?? (Without breathing problems?)

Breathing problems & sinus problems may occur simultaneously but they are
not necessarily connected. So getting one does not automatically mean you
get the other. Breathing involves the nasal passages , polyps may involve
nasal passages and the sinus drains. Polyps can block sinus drains and
fill spaces in the nasal passages and are the result of chronic
inflammation. If they block your sinus drains infection and inflammation
usually follow. They can be removed easily which sets you up to get
better.
