Hi guys
Like Many of you I have been suffering from sinusitis/post nasal drip for
over 3 months non stop.....its been hell!....Finally I am starting to see
the light at the end of the tunnel.

Most of the information (and Doctors) will suggest drinking plenty of
water..however I think that many of us underestimate the benefits of doing
so....and I`m not referring to a glass of water here and there .....

Over the past 2 weeks I drink up to 5-6 litres of water/day......Filtered
water.....I have a 600 ml bottle by my side at all times and constantly sip
throughout the day......for me ....the improvement in my condition was
amazing and almost instantaneous after months of antibiotics/nasal sprays
etc etc.... with much of the congestion associated with this condition
easily being expelled and considerably less

I had always been a big coffee drinker some times 10 /day......coffee is a
diuretic and dehydrates the body and consequently keeps the phlegm etc nice
and thick and sticky.....so coffee for me is out!....I do have 2 cups of
Black Tea a day as (gotta have something lol).....I of course still use
saline Nasal washes 2x per day and use Beconase Nasal spray....but drinking
"PLENTY" of water made the real difference

Anyway I just thought I would pass my experience on in the hope that it may
be of benefit to others

Cheers

Thank you Vic for posting.  I love coffee and I am like you have had 10
cups a day at times. Thanks for posting about dehydration and water
consumption.  I'm going to do your protocol
and I bet I will feel a difference.  Your posts was an inspiration!

Thanks for your suggestion.

Did you also have bad sore throats as part of your symptoms??

I don't drink much water. I'm just never really thirsty. But I know I should
and maybe I'll redouble my efforts in that area!!

If you have a sinus condition or thick mucus, tea with lemon is more
effective as it stimulates nasal / chest cilia and thins mucus. If you drink
plain water, it is beneficial to add a citrus - lemon, lime to the water.

Only if the tea is decaffeinated.  Otherwise the caffeine will act as a
diuretic and dry out your mucous membranes.

Hi Guys Thanx for the feedback and I will also try Lemon or Lime with my
water and Tea ...Today has been my best day for months ......so fingers
crossed!!

I would like to run a theory I have past you guys and please tell me if it
makes sense or not

I live In Brisbane Australia....beginning of October I caught a
Cold....either that or allergy /Hayfever....I have had these bouts before of
course but it was usually resolved in 3-4 weeks max.....I had a low level
infection and was in the process of taking a course of Amoxicillin....and I
appeared to be on the mend.

My wife and I then flew to Sydney for a family function and even though I
was not completely better I thought no more of It.

On the Flight down I noticed I was suffering from the altitude pressure far
more than I normally do and was quite deaf for the duration of the flight
and also felt as if my balance had been affected.

The Following Day in Sydney ..It all came back with a vengeance and I was
quite miserable for most of my weeks vacation.....Of course we had to fly
back home...on the flight home the altitude pressure problem I had
experienced on the flight down was even worse X2....and I was almost totally
deaf for the duration...and at some stage I though my ear drums would burst
with the associated pain.....and I have been suffering from this ever since.

Anyway my theory is that I believe that the Flights To and From Sydney and
the associated pressure problems I experienced ....drove the small amount of
infection I had originally.... deep into the sinuses making it very
difficult to clear up and consequently prolonging something which under
normal circumstances would have cleared up in only a matter of weeks..does
that make sense?

Cheers

Just One More Thing....For those who suffer from post nasal drip/cough....
as I assume many of you would (as I do) considering the nature of this
affliction.....have you favourite hot tea...I'm now adding Lemon and Honey
(im a sweet tooth)..maybe even 2 cups....then follow up immediately by
sipping your bottled water again (with lemon/lime if you like)...for me ..it
removes accumulated overnight phlegm far better and deeper than bromhexine
hcl..and guaiphenesin....any thing I can do to relieve/cure? the problem
without constant drug taking the better.

Pardon my crudeness..but I never would have thought a few months ago that Id
be sitting here discussing and swapping ideas on the best ways to remove
snot..LOL...all I can say is that the Internet is a wonderfull
thing...giving us access to information and Ideas we otherwise would not
have....Snotbuckets unite LMAO!
Cheers and Merry Xmas and Happy NY from the Land down under
