Wrong, completely wrong.

It causes dizziness, whether it's from the ears or not, IME.

Wrong.
> 4. Chronic sinusitis does not cause extreme fatigue, only mild.
Wrong.

The doctor in question is an ignorant, dismissive a$$hole.

I have terrible sinus headaches for days before I get a sinus infection.
I take Aleve it is the only thing that helps me function.
Sometimes I get a infection weeks later.

I want to thank all of you for your comments. During this Thanksgiving
holiday I've had the opportunity to ask many family members and friends
with sinus problems their opinion. 100% replied that this guy is a
nut! What makes this so hard to believe is this ENT is on staff at a
well known hospital and seems to be well respected. I traveled 500
miles to meet with him. He often speaks at conferences about sinusitis
and I wonder how much of an influence his opinions have on other sinus
specialists?
It makes you wonder who is the expert in regard to symptoms? The
patient that experiences the problem or the doctor that treats the
patient? Doesn't the doctor become an expert by listening to the
patient?

There are about as many "theories" or should I say hypotheses, or maybe
better yet, guesses as to what causes chronic sinusitis, the symptoms,
and the treatment as there are ENTs. The problem that I've seen with
most is that they subscribe to one opinion only and if you don't fit
into that category, then you don't have it. It's best to try to find
an ENT who will admit that they just don't know for sure and are
willing to consider all possibilities AND listen to your symptoms as
well as treat CT scans, etc. I have found some of the worst ENTS at
the "so called" renowned facilities, but then again I found one of the
best that had been affiliated with the same facility. As Judy has
said, it's not the facility, but the individual doctor that makes the
difference. I hate to call it doctor shopping, but essentially that is
what you have to do if you have this horendous condition. Then you may
have to keep on shopping when that ENT runs out of options in his area
of expertise.
