I had surgery about a year ago to fix deviated septum.  About two
months later I started having headaches in my forhead.  CT scan showed
some scar tissue and a polyp.  A second surgery was done and headaches
were gone for two weeks.  In August of this year I started having pain
in the back of my head and earaches.  My ENT prescribed Levaquin which
cleared it up.  Three weeks later symptoms were back.  A CT scan was
done (while I was on Levaquin for the second time and I felt pretty
good) and the scan came back normal with just slight blockage of one of
the sphenoids.  After finishing the Levaquin again the symptoms
disappeared but were back 4 days later.  I have been referred to
neurologist who had MRI done and it also was normal.  He prescribed
Elavil for migranes which has done nothing except make me dizzy.  This
is a rundown of my symptoms:  Back of my head hurts,(left side more
than right) ears hurt, (again left side more than right) head and ears
hurt EXTREMELY bad when I lay down therefore I'm usually forced to try
and sleep propped up in my recliner.  My ears ring constantly and left
ear stays stopped up and I find myself swallowing constantly just to
unstop it, when I bend down or jar my head it hurts bad, bridge of nose
and sides of nose hurt when pressure is applied, sore throat, bad taste
in my mouth.  My ENT has been very understanding but feels like he is
running out of options.  I have had two other ENT's examine the CT scan
and they both feel like I need a neurologist.  I have had some of my
symptoms explained away from my nose being sore from the first surgery
a year ago to a muscle being pulled in the back of my head.  I feel
like I'm losing my mind!  I really feel this is a sphenoid sinus
problem but I have no congestion and my sinuses are clear when examined
endoscopically.  Anyone who has ever had problems with their sphenoid
sinuses please respond and tell me all the symptoms you had.
