What are these symptoms?

Every couple months I get this lightheaded kinda feeling with a mild
fever, weakness and some sneezing with nasal soreness. Doing heavy
work seems to make it worse and I live in the area (San Diego) where
things are warm all year long.

I've had these symptoms on and off ever since I had sinusitis several
years ago. A recent CT scan shows no sinusitis. I woke up this morning
with a temperature of 98.3, and now I come home feeling lightheaded, weak
and a temperature of 99.2 (no work done today, but did yesterday and before)

I went to see an ENT and he said that temperature is normal, but I know it
is'nt normal for me, nor is the lightheadedness and weakness. He said since
the CT scan was normal, he did'nt know what was wrong with me.

Other people in the county have complained of similar symptoms, but said
their symptoms went away after a couple of weeks. I'm irrigating quite a bit.
Also considering allergy testing. Is it possible that this is an allergy?

What kind of work do you do?   Do you by any chance work in anything
that would have a lot of mold or other organic dusts or chemicals?  If
so, you could be getting something like organic dust syndrome,
humidifier fever or hypersensitivity pnemonitis.  Just a though, since
you said you felt worse when working and others having similar
problems.  Do you feel better on weekends and vacations?   If none of
the above apply, then I think allergy testing would be a good first
step.

BTW,
I was considering a trial move to the San Diego area because of its
mild climate.  Temperature changes seem to be my worst trigger.  Is
mold a problem there?

I'm a sales manager for a food distribution corp and I'm in a clean office.

As far as I know, mold is not a problem here because of the dryness.
The problem is year-round pollen and all sorts of hellish things blowing
in from the arrid east county desert, especially during the Santa Anna's.

Then I would  have the allergy testing done.  Allergies are definitely
one of the things that can make you more susceptible to sinus
infections because of the swelling.
In the meantime, if you continue to run a low grade fever even with a
normal looking CT scan  a course of antibitoics should be in order if
it doesn't clear up in a few days.  A virus shouldn't last over 2
weeks.  Sounds like it may have started that way since other people had
the same symptoms also;  just in your case it possibly turned into a
sinus infection.  They don't always show up on CT scan.

Thanks for the info about mold.  I don't have typical allergies, just
an abnormal immune response to most molds.  We are looking for
somewhere else to go for a while where there isn't much mold nor many
weather changes.  San Diego is about the only place I've been able to
find that meets both criteria.  Being from East Tn. all of my life,
this would be a big change.   Do you like living there?

You're welcome, just make sure you live in a clean place
if you come out here 'cause you never really know what's
inside of carpets, walls, air ducts, bathrooms, etc.

I don't like living here anymore I guess because it's where I
got sinusitis, and have never been the same since. I'm from
Pennsylvania and have only been in San Diego for 11 years.
The warm weather all year long is absolutely horrible, for me.
I'd like to move to Boise, Idaho ... very mild winters and low
humidity in the summer. The change of season, which I miss,
might even help my sinuses, but I have no way of being sure.
I would'nt want to move, only to find out I'm back to square 1.

What kind of things do you mean? mold from leakage, etc.  or dust and
that sort of thing?   I'm not talking about moving anywhere permanently
and was actually contemplating rentiing or buying a medium sized camper
and just finding somewhere the weather is fairly stable with low
humidity for a while to see if it helps.  Right now I can't afford to
do it anyway

>I never thought of Boise, Idaho; wouldn't have thought they would have mild winters.  I love the area where I live.  We are just a couple of hours from the Smokie Mts.  and the seasons are beautiful, but the extreme temperature changes fall and spring and high humidity in summer just make it miserable for me living here.  I would never want to leave my daughter and grandchildren permanently, but am going to have to do something to clear up whatever is going on in my sinuses.  i would hate to move to San Diego or anywhere else and maybe make things even worse.

At any rate, I hope you find a solution to your sinus problems.  As you
have read here it's very difficult finding out the exact cause.
